Heroic and elegiac. Colored pencils on paper, 50 W x 70 H x 0,1 D cm.

“I woke up with this marble head in my hands that exhausts my elbow and I don’t know where to put it down.
That’s all I’m able to do; My hands disappear and come towards me
mutilated”. George Seferis, “I woke up with this marble head”, Mythistorema.

When I first saw this marble head of Zeus, I thought about the bearded heads of killed Greek Resistance fighters, in association with images from the devastating massacre of the Greek civil war.
This work is dedicated to the unknown Resistance fighter, who sacrificed his life in the struggle for Freedom and Independence.
